Dana Point Beach House - Upstairs

My family loved it! As mentioned, there's not a straightforward direct access/stairwell to the water, but I got down through the rocks easily, and I'm no gymnast/rock climber. My family who were less certain took the open path just a few houses down and didn't mind at all. We didn't take advantage of the barbecue but we did a lot of cooking and were happy with how well stocked the place was with cookware (and for me, drinkware, though luckily I always travel with my own corkscrew). We had six adults and felt we definitely had enough room without getting in each other's way. A great value for that view and the sound of those crashing waves! We hope to visit again, thank you!

Absolutely amazing location very secure very safe Our stay was like a home away from home and so much more and located directly on the beach You really couldn’t ask for more Host was amazing they did a great job made us feel at home and like we had been friends forever Everything about the spot was great

I took my wife and 2 kids , Had a terrific time . The location was ideal and views breathtaking. The place is big . The continuous sound of waves are so therapeutic. It’s private and quiet but close to grocery and shopping etc . Owners provided boogie boards beach chairs and surfboards which we made tons of use of rite outside the front door . Will Defntly come back Thank you

Fabulous location right on the beach - can hear the ocean waves all day and night. Great location to get to San Diego (~1 hour) and half way between Anaheim (Disneyland) and Carlsbad (Legoland), about 35 min each. Was a perfect location for a getaway to the beach with easy access to major parks for our littles (ages almost 4 and 6.5 yrs old). In keeping with the “70’s theme”, the unit is a bit dated, but location and cost make up for that. There is a nearby train that periodically runs throughout the day and night, but ocean waves helped compensate for that noise. Dana point is a lovely little beach town. Very safe gated community. Was able to go for a run on the beach as well.

My family & I had a wonderful time here! The location cannot be beat, the beach is beautiful! The house is very comfortable, plenty of room, great views from balcony and close to lots of fun stuff. The hosts were super responsive and helpful! Can’t wait to come back!

This home is in the perfect location! You can literally hear the waves in every room of the house. It’s located in a beautiful gated community. It is an older home but the furniture and bedding are very comfortable. This was the perfect place for our family vacation and we can’t wait to come back.

The house was very dirty and completely unsanitary. Everything in the house had some type of mold or dirt on it. We pulled out dishes that still had food left on them. The house is extremely hot, we slept with the doors and windows open which would have been nice except for the contractors that started working at 6:30 am everyday and the train that runs all day and night. There were no where near enough toiletries left for my family to use, 4 towels for 6 people to last a week is insane. My family does trips every few months and have stayed in many rentals with never an issue like this. It is clear this host has no concern about the guests well being or their safety. The view is nice, the only thing this property has to offer.

This house is in a great location but it’s OLD not vintage but OLD. It was clean but everything needs to be remodeled.

Great location, just know going in you are paying solely for location, interior quite dated.

It was a great experience to stay by the ocean and hear the waves at night. The house does get hot and it can be hard to sleep at night. Would make the house better if it was more updated and more cleaner.

Nice Location however the home was very outdated there is no AC witch made it very uncomfortable to sleep at night.

so much room! that was a wonderful surprise. everything you could possibly need was in the kitchen. it is older and has seen years of love. perfect for the price. we had a wonderful time.

The most beautiful ocean view! Literally, right on the beach! This is the perfect stay for beach walks and cruises down to Doheny for surfing.

This property is literally on the ocean - the deck, kitchen and main room are awesome. There is no AC but the breezes are often cool. The bedrooms are hot and don’t have ceiling fans. Floor fans would be recommended. The host is great 👍.

This property provided my family with a cozy, private, ocean-front beach vacation we were looking for. The home itself is absolutely charming, spacious and comfortable. I love the kitchen and great room with tons of seating, and large picture windows and slider accessing the deck and the ocean beyond. This home is great in the daytime, but its charm is magnified after the sun sets with glowing lamplight and the the sounds of the ocean crashing heard from every room. Another review stated this home was old-old, not vintage-old. But i would argue that it is vintage-old as many items in the home are from the 1970s and still in great working order. Two Boogie boards were an unexpected treat! This home haunts my dreams for its intangible allure. I would rent again in a heartbeat and am already planning more time here next summer if its available. The host, Chris, was always responsive and made sure we always had what we needed.

It's hard to beat being right on the ocean! Gated community, a little beach right out front depending on the tide, close to store and restaurants, cozy and beach vibe interior.

We will be back! 10/10 stay and the place exceeded our expectations. Could not be any closer to the water - we listened to the waves rolling in day and night and enjoyed the beach. Also appreciated that this house was in a safe community where we were able to walk in the mornings. Christopher was very responsive and kind!

What else can you say but wow. The view was amazing the walk to the beach was so short I rarely even wore flip flops. My only regret was not having another week.

Beautiful location. We have a soft spot for this Doheny Beach. The house sits right on the beach front and access to the beach was doable. So peaceful. This home definitely reflects its time..but it was comfortable. I appreciated the fans for each bedroom. I do however wished there were screens on all the windows. But that’s a personal thing.

My wife and rented this place to meet up with our daughters 19 & 23 for a long weekend. We wanted easy access to beaches and good surfing spots. The house felt very roomy with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and Hugh living area with kitchen facing the ocean. The owner was great to work with and communicated quickly. We will definitely consider renting again.

Our stay was awesome! The location is amazing and the house lived up to our hopes. So much so, that we are trying to book again asap. The host was accessible, pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We highly recommend and are spreading the word to everyone we know. John & Rio C

Everyone in our group had a great time at Christopher's place. It is spacious and clean - with lots of different places to relax. The beds were comfortable and location is amazing.

The beach house was cozy and right next to the water. We really appreciated how responsive and flexible Chris was during our stay.

Nothing but positive things to say about my stay! The only tiny criticisms would be the lack of AC, and the place is just a little older and well used. Would not ever stop me from going back or recommending to others! Loved it!

Great location. Sleeping to the sounds of the waves. Safe and only steps to sand and ocean. Place is a little warn but to me the location and efforts from Christopher will make for a perfect stay.

Awesome location right on the beach. The home was stocked with beach gear and was very roomy for our family of 5. I was a little worried about no AC in the August heat but the weather in socal is amazing and cool at night. Would stay again! Great host!
